HCA Scholarships & the “Family Assistance
Program (FAP)”
Coinciding with our individual scholarship program that we
coordinate within the children’s homes we currently work with. We also look to
take a holistic family orientated approach in providing what we call the “Family
Assistance Program (FAP)”. For example, many families within the
communities in which we work cannot afford to send all their children to school,
thus generally a family with four children will only send two of their kids to
school. With the other two missing out on the opportunity and growing up
without the privilege and the benefits of gaining an education.
We see cases such as this every day and to support
underprivileged families in this situation (through the work of our CLCR/ HCA Scholarship Outreach Team) we look
to implement the FAP in an effort to take on and provide opportunities for
children/ families like this to attend HCA on a scholarship basis.
This program has been set up with the notion that no Nepali
child should be without an education, regardless of their ability to afford it
or not.
Here are a few photographic examples of some of the Nepali
families we have targeted for the FAP within HCA & other HCA students that
have benefited from scholarship support
Below is another example of
the sort of cases we support thorugh our HCA scholarshp program:
